Triangle Math and Science Academy Receives “A” Performance Grade for 6th Consecutive Year

N.C. Department of Public Instruction Awards Performance Grade for 2018-19 School Year

CARY, N.C. (Sept. 10, 2019) – Triangle Math and Science Academy, Cary’s premier charter school focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) received an “A” performance grade on the North Carolina School Report Cards for the 2018-19 school year. Every year, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction provides a report card with a letter grade for all public schools in North Carolina.

These report cards are an important resource for parents, educators, state leaders, and others to get further information about a school’s performance and academic growth, school and student characteristics, and more. Eighty percent of the grade is based on a school’s reading and math test achievement score while the remaining 20 percent is based on students’ academic growth. In 2018-19, Triangle Math and Science Academy met its growth expectations with an overall score of 89 out of 100.

“Compared to other schools in the state, we score nearly 37% higher overall, with the margin for achievement being 45% higher than the state average,” said Triangle Math and Science Academy Principal Mithat Karabalut (Mr. Kara). “While it’s unrealistic to base a school’s entire performance solely off academic and test achievement scores, it is a reflection of the hard work of our students and staff. I’m proud of this incredible team who continually strives for excellence in all they do.”

Triangle Math and Science Academy is a tuition-free, non-religious affiliated charter school in Wake County, was additionally ranked the No. 10 charter school in North Carolina by Niche. Visit Triangle Math and Science Academy online or follow them on Facebook to learn more.
